Premios Óscar: Revela la lista de películas elegibles en la carrera a la Mejor Película de 2022

A pesar de los infortunios que está causando la variante Ómicron en todo el mundo, la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas ha decidido continuar con la ceremonia de los Oscar de 2022 y esta ocasión ha revelado nueva información sobre su próxima edición.

La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas anunció el pasado jueves la lista con los 276 largometrajes que son elegibles para ser considerados en la 94ª edición de los Oscar, que se llevará a cabo el 27 de marzo desde el Teatro Dolby en Hollywood.

El número es 90 menos que los 366 del año pasado, sin embargo, se considera que el período de elegibilidad de este año fue de solo 10 meses, entre el 1 de marzo y el 31 de diciembre de 2021, y esto afectó a algunos filmes que no pudieron ser considerados para participar.

Para ser elegible para la categoría a Mejor Película, las cintas deben haber presentado una entrada confidencial de Estándares de Inclusión y Representación de la Academia como parte de los requisitos de presentación. Sin embargo, la Academia señaló que no se requerirá cumplir con esos estándares hasta los Oscar de 2024.

Las modificaciones en los criterios de la Academia han permitido que películas que anteriormente no eran consideradas, busquen una estatuilla este año, tal es el caso de “Spiderman: No Way Home”, que podría significar una nueva aparición de Marvel Studios en la categoría; “The Power of the Dog” y “Don’t Look Up” de la plataforma de streaming Netflix; y finalmente “Dune”, “Free Guy” y “F9″, producciones grandes que buscar colarse a la premiación.

La votación de las nominaciones comenzará el 27 de enero, concluirá el 1 de febrero y las nominaciones finales se darán a conocer el martes 8 de febrero.

Es importante recordar que la Academia ya ha publicado a los preseleccionados en las categorías de Película Internacional, Largometraje Documental, Banda Sonora Original, Canción Original, Maquillaje y Peluquería, Efectos Visuales, Sonido y Acción en Vivo, Documental y Cortos Animados.
